Math Challenge Tournament
MATH CHALLENGE TOURNAMENT - RETURNING TO ELLA BAKER IN APRIL!
Exciting news! This year, our school is hosting the National Math Challenge Tournament in person once again. This exciting event provides a valuable and fun opportunity for our young students to show case their skills in a variety of math topics. Math Challenge Tournament® is a National Mathematics tournament open to Grade 2 – 5 students. Students in Grade 1 can participate; however, they will be competing at a grade 2 level, division 2. This tournament is open to students in all 50 states.

Author Visit
Author, Lily LaMotte, is Coming to Ella Baker!
Ella Baker welcomes Author, Lily LaMotte, on Friday, April 4th. PTSA is excited to sponsor this event.
Lily LaMotte is a debut author of the funny and heart-warming graphic novel, Measuring Up, which explores family love, self-identity, embracing diversity and more. Her other books include Unhappy Camper, and a picture book, Chloe’s Lunar New Year.
Our school is partnering with Brick & Mortar Books for families to order their own signed copies of these books. Order deadline has been extended to Thursday, March 27th. Community STEAM Night
🔬✨ Ella Baker STEAM Fair – Registration Opens March 17th! ✨🔬
Calling all young STEAM enthusiasts! 🧪🔍 The Ella Baker STEAM Fair is coming soon, and we can’t wait to see our students' creativity and curiosity in action. Whether it’s a chemistry experiment, an engineering marvel, a biology breakthrough, or an alternative project that focuses on one of the other STEAM areas (technology, engineering, art or math), all students are welcome to participate!

Every year, our yearbook team creates a page with baby photos of our 5th graders. If you'd like to participate, please submit a baby photo of your 5th grader with their first and last name as the file name.

We need your help designing the Ella Baker 2024-2025 yearbook cover. Submit your designs by March 31 to the front office. The winner's artwork will be featured as the cover of this year's yearbook.

Theatre Week Returns – Pinocchio Takes the Stage!
Get ready for an exciting Theatre Week with Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT)! This year’s school play is Pinocchio, and students in grades K-5 are invited to participate.
Theatre Week: March 24–29
Registration: February 24 – March 9
Rehearsal Schedule & Fees:
Grades K-1: $115
Mon, Thur, Fri: 4-6 PM | Wed: 2:30-4:30 PM
Grades 2-5: $175
Daily: 4-8:15 PM | Wed: 2:30-6:45 PM (Includes a meal/snack break)
Auditions: Monday, March 24, 4-6 PM (All registered students are guaranteed a role!)

Community Night of Service
Join us for a Community Night of Service on January 30th!
Bring the whole family to participate in fun and meaningful projects including assembling bracelet kits for youth in foster care (Treehouse), creating encouraging place-mats for kids receiving meals at a homeless shelter (New Bethlehem), creating art that Sparks Peace (Student Rebuild), and assembling birthday bags for homeless children (Birthday Dreams).

Raise Craze Kindess Fundraiser
COLOR YOUR WORLD WITH KINDNESS!!
Our Second Annual Raise Craze Fundraiser kicks off Friday January 17th! Join us for two weeks of fun when we will work together to meet our goal of completing 500 acts of kindness and raising $15,000 for our school by January 31st. Events will include a school wide night of service on 1/30, prize drawings, a clothing drive, class parties, a traveling trophy, a slime celebration, a glow dance party, and fun prizes just for participating. Registration will be live on January 17th. Even if you had an account last year, you will need to create a new one.
Watch for more information coming home with your student on the 17th!

MLK Assembly and Kindness Fundraiser Kick Off
Join us! Our 3rd grade students will be hosting this years Martin Luther King Jr Assembly.
Caregivers are more than welcome to attend this event. You can start entering the building at 9:25am to find your seats.

Ice Skating FUNdraiser
❄️ Looking for Weekend Plans? Head to the Bellevue Downtown Ice Rink! ❄️
Starting November 15th, enjoy some winter fun at the Bellevue Downtown Ice Rink and support our school at the same time! Just mention “Ella Baker” at entry, and for each paid admission, a $3 donation will go directly to our PTSA. It’s a wonderful way to bring family and friends together while giving back to our school community! ⛸️💙

Vision and Hearing Screening is on Thursday, November 14th. Training is required and will be provided day-of. When arriving, please check-in at the front office first.
